− | I don't know quite enough about the topic to write this myself, but it sounds like CS:GO has some chat coloring quirks. I think the message must start with the standard color, \x01, it must have some kind of printable character after that, and then you can proceed to color the rest of the text. I've been doing research on this, maybe later I will come back and try to add this to the article. Until then, I'll leave this here as a reminder that this could be added.
